Apart from them, the book also recognizes and appreciates the way the lesser known activists who also fought to bring about a just political system in our country. It gives detailed information on these leader and fighters who fought for what we call the Modern India. It also talks about themes like race, caste, religion, language, gender, nationality and the like which affected the nation.
About the Author
Ramachandra Guha is a writer and an Indian Historian. He has been a columnist for The Telegraph and Hindustan Times. He finished his education at The Doon School. He has written several books like India After Gandhi, The Unquiet Woods, A Corner of a Foreign Field, How Much Should A Person Consume? andEnvironmentalism.
